Welcome to the website of the Jordanian Geographical Society, a national scientific institution in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan that contributes to the understanding of geography, deepens its role in various fields, and highlights its importance in society. We also aim to develop the skills of specialists and those interested in this scientific field, thereby contributing significantly to a deeper understanding of the world around us and playing an important role in addressing the challenges we face. The Jordanian Geographical Society seeks to support and encourage geographical research on a diverse range of topics, including the environment, sustainable development, climate change, and urban planning, and to disseminate geographical knowledge through seminars, conferences, publications, books, and articles. Through the Society, we work to provide educational and training programs for professionals and students at universities and institutes to develop their skills in the fields of geographic information systems and remote sensing. At the Jordanian Geographical Society, we look forward to collaborating with national, regional, and international institutions to exchange knowledge and experiences and strengthen geographical cooperation to help find practical solutions to environmental and economic challenges, raise awareness of the importance of geography and its impact on our daily lives, and encourage the use of geography as a tool for understanding and solving problems. I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation for the efforts of our fellow members and supporters of the Society toward achieving the Society’s goals and advancing this important field in Jordan. I am confident that the future of geography in Jordan is promising and full of potential, and we at the Jordanian Geographical Society are eager to work toward achieving the desired progress in this field in service of the lofty national goals under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah ibn Al-Hussein, may God protect him.
