نظم الشعبة العربية لخبراء الأسماء الجغرافية والمركز الجغرافي الملكي الأردني والمركز الإقليمي لتدريس علوم وتكنولوجيا الفضاء لغرب أسيا / الأمم المتحدة والجمعية الجغرافية الأردنية ، المؤتمر العربي الثامن للخبراء العرب في الأسماء الجغرافيّة في العاصمة الأردنية عمّان ما بين 1-3 تشرين اول (اكتوبر) عام 2019.
The conference aims to promote joint Arab action in the following areas:
- Adoption of a standardized format for geographical names.
- Activation of the Arab Division's committees.
- Implementation of the Unified Arabic Romanization System.
- Establishment of national committees/bodies responsible for geographical names.
- Preserving Arabic geographical names as part of the Arab cultural heritage and limiting their alteration and disappearance.
- Preventing the Judaization of geographical names in Palestine.
- Organizing educational workshops and forums for the exchange of expertise in the field of names and geographic information.
- Implementation of Arab and international resolutions concerning the collection, recording, standardization, and preservation of geographical names.
