Friðheimar is very much a family affair, run by Knútur Rafn Ármann and his wife Helena Hermundardóttir.

Find Icelandic expertise in renewable energy and circular solutions. In total, there are around 40 horses at Friðheimar. Currently, there are two to three award-winning breeding mares on our farm and we only use award-winning stallions for breeding. Emphasis is placed on a no gamestop smooth tölt, with a good foot lift and fast pace, preferably spacious five-gaited horses. It is a valuable resource for us Icelanders to have access to good and abundant spring water for irrigation. Visits to the greenhouses are available all year round for prebooked groups.

Green energy, pure water and biological pest controls make for tasty and healthful tomatoes. The tomatoes are now grown all year, using state-of-the-art technology in an environmentally-friendly way. We would love to hear about your stay at our guesthouse or cottages.

We also breed horses, and put on a horse show – in fourteen languages. We welcome visitors to see our greenhouses, and then enjoy a taste of the crop. Their five children, Dóróthea, Karítas, Matthías Jens, Arnaldur and Tómas Ingi, all play an active part in the family business.
